What is railpass validation?

Validating your railpass is quite simple.

Once you arrive in Britain with your BritRail Pass, you are ready to go.

But before you go, you must have your railpass validated. This can be done at all major rail stations including the smaller ones as well any travel center.

On your first day of travel, simply present your railpass to the official behind the window. The official will then stamp your railpass which will indicate your first day of travel.

From here, you no longer need to go to a ticket window. The train conductors will know your first rail day by the stamp and tick off the boxes as you go along.

You can however travel on an unvalidated pass if an attendant is not present at the time of your travel. This usually occurs at smaller stations. Instructions on validation will be provided. Follow these instructions carefully.

It is important that you not tamper with your pass. If a conductor feels this has happened, you run the risk of having your railpass taken away.

It is also important to enter your dates correctly.

In North America we enter the date as Month/Day/Year

In Britain it is entered as Day/Month/Year

Happy BritRailing!

The underrated bargain.

February 9 2010 One of the most underrated attraction bargains is the Great British Heritage Pass.

"As most people know. Britain is one of the more well known country for it's tradition and heritage. So it only makes sense that visitors to Great Britain have an attraction pass such as this to bring out any heritage junky" states Mike DaSilva, president of Britain On Track Inc.

"This all in one pass allows the traveler to visit over 600 of Great Britain's national treasures. And in many cases at half the price of admission. I very much recommend such a cost saving pass. Just show up at your site of choice. Show your pass. And receive your entrance ticket. It's as simple as that"

All hail the London Visitor Travel Card!

February 5. 2010 - It can't be expressed enough the economic value and convenience of the London Visitor Travel Card.

"London is a busy place any time of the year. But in particular the high tourist season between May and September says Mike DaSilva president of Britain On Track. The London Underground is well known for its sardine like atmosphere.

"This is what makes the prepaid London Visitor Card a valuable weapon" You purchase it before you go. This allows the visitor to jump the queue. No waiting in line. Just slide it through the turnstile and board your tube train."

"The economical value of the card can't be understated either. As cards purchased in North America are cheaper than the cards purchased in London. It's also a great compliment to the equally economical BritRail Pass"

The London Visitor Travel Card come in both a 3 day or 7 day validity for either the central zones (popular tourist areas) or all zones which span throughout the whole of London.
