The BritRail Pass and the Royal Wedding are a perfect marriage.

London, Friday, February 4, 2011 - Britain On Track is offering a discounted pass to avoid long lineups for Americans and Canadians traveling in Britain during the Royal Wedding.

Prince William of Wales and Kate Middleton are scheduled to be married at Westminster Abbey on 29 April 2011, and London is expected to see an influx of possibly as many as a million visitors, many of them traveling by train.

"For those that are unfamiliar with the British rail system, rail passes allow you to travel the entire UK rail system with one document, at one set price," says Mike DaSilva, President of Britian On Track, North America's top provider of BritRail passes, tickets and related British Rail products. "These BritRail passes are discounted with the traveler's budget in mind and there is no need to wait in line to purchase tickets. You just board your train."

Leading up to, and during the Royal Wedding, Britain is expected to see an influx of visitors. In 1981, during the last Royal Wedding of Prince Charles of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer, approximately 600,000 visitors flooded the streets of London. This time around even more spectators are expected to come out to see Prince William and Kate Middleton tie the knot.

"With the expected rush of visitors, not only will Britain be a busy place but so will its rail stations," says DaSilva. "This is where the BritRail Pass shines. It allows you to avoid the ticket queues. Simply board your train, present your pass, and you're off. Easy Peasy. Now that's convenience!"

The Discount travel website, Expedia.com, has reported a 266% rise in flight bookings to London during the same time period as the Royal Wedding and according to Hotels.com, hotel reservations in London are up 212%, compared to reservations in 2010.

"Like most places during national events such as this, air and rail fares, hotel rates and food costs tend to rise," Says DaSilva. "But not the BritRail Pass. This rail pass was designed with your travel budget in mind. And this is why BritRail is the preferred way to travel Britain."

During the Royal Wedding, access to Westminster Abbey, the wedding venue, will be restricted. However there are many travel companies putting together “romance trail” packages. This will enable visitors to follow in William and Kate’s footsteps, visiting such places as Scotland, where William and Kate met while studying at St. Andrews University in Fife, and Anglesey, North Wales, where the couple will live after the wedding.

Britain On Track offers a wide range of products to help the Royal Wedding traveler to navigate through Britain. From the BritRail Pass, which allows unlimited rail travel in England, Scotland and Wales to the BritRail London Plus Pass, which is the perfect rail pass for day trips out of London. They also offer the London Visitor Travel Card, which allows access to London's famous underground train system.

Britain On Track is North America's top provider of BritRail passes, tickets and related British Rail products to the North American and world market. Discover England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland by train, and see why the BritRail Pass is the most economical and preferred way to travel The United Kingdom and Ireland.
